This page explains what we collect when you sign the petition, sign up to be featured on camera, or subscribe for email updates, and how we use it.

What we collect

When you sign the petition, we collect:

Full name
Address
Email address
Whether you opted in to receive updates (“Send me updates”)

When you sign up to be featured on camera, we collect:

Full name
Gender
Mobile number
Email address, if you choose to give one
Whether you are 16 or 17, or 18 or over
If you are 16 or 17, confirmation we can talk to a parent or guardian, and that they will email us to agree
Confirmation that you live in Luton
Consent to be filmed for our social media

When you subscribe for email updates, we collect:

Email address

Why we collect it

To record and count petition signatures
To prevent duplicate signatures
To send updates to people who explicitly opt in
To contact people who asked to be featured on camera, and to arrange filming. If you are 16 or 17, that includes talking to a parent or guardian
To send campaign email updates to people who subscribe via the website form

What we show publicly

We may show recent signing activity on the website. If we do, we only display your first name and last initial (for example, “Sarah M.”). We do not display your full name, address, email, or phone number publicly. On-camera signups are not shown on the website.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your data. We may share petition signatures with relevant local decision-makers as part of the campaign (for example, in an export for the council). On-camera signups are emailed to the campaign team with Resend so we can get in touch about filming. Email update subscriptions are stored with EmailOctopus so we can send newsletters; you can unsubscribe from any email we send.
